Still, a Snowy Afternoon: Sunflowers!

Sunflowers 11x14

OK, I'm feeling less snowed in!  You know, it is amazing how well things go once someone prays for you.
Thank you Dorle for praying! I'm over the "grumps."

Thinking of Summer on a Snowy Day: Water Lilies

Water Lilies 8 x 12"

This is a great way to think "warm" when there is a foot and a half of snow outside!

"Two Edged Sword" 11 x 14 oil pastel

A new pastel I have titled "Two Edged Sword".

I was thinking about Hebrews 4:12
while drawing, so that's where the name came from.

As you can see, my cat enjoys art with his meals!

Jazz and Pastels

Here are a couple of pastels I drew while listening to Mago Herrera at Dazzle.

There is just something wonderful that happens while listening to live jazz.  I just let the sounds inspire the colors and shapes.

If anyone is interested, I can offer these for sale.  Because they are oil-pastels, I will have to mat and frame these under glass.

Both pieces are 11 x 15.

"Orchids" and "Stained Glass Glow" oil pastel on paper, each 11x15

Here I am experimenting with some oil pastels.  I enjoy blending and playing with the colors.  Let me know what you think of these efforts.  If I'm not writing, I love playing with colors in different ways.  Oil pastels are "faster" to work with, and not as much mess to clean up when you are done.  But I still get to express my creativity.

The scripture is Psalm 84:11. I was listening mostly to Miles Davis while painting...hence the name.

"Desert Sunset" 30 X 40 oil on canvas

I was inspired to paint this while enjoying a beautiful desert sunset and challenge "Lisa, why don't you try to paint that?"

So I did...

To anyone who enjoys spectacular question is,"How close did I get to the real thing?"

"Jerusalem" Collage and acrylic 24 x 48

I am trying something new for the New Year...a collage done with acrylics. A friend brought me back a poster of Jerusalem from her trip to Israel. When I couldn't find a frame the right size, I glued it to a canvas, and my imagination took off from there.
